The Dearborn Education Foundation Mardi Gras party raised $43,000 for Dearborn Public Schools students and teachers.
DEARBORN — Feb. 18 wasn’t a regular Tuesday. The Dearborn Education Foundation raised $43,000 for the students and teachers of Dearborn Schools through its annual Mardi Gras party.
Partygoers enjoyed music, dancing, a 360 photo booth,
raffles, and a silent auction. In addition, attendees voted for their favorite schools. Winners of the dubloon contest were Duvall Elementary School, O.L. Smith Middle School and Edsel Ford High School.
Event King sponsor, Southwest Foodservice Excellence, donated and prepared food for the event.
“SFE is proud to support the Dearborn Education Foundation all year long in their efforts to provide an exceptional learning experience for Dearborn students,” SFE wrote in a press release. “As the child nutrition partner for Dearborn Public Schools, SFE was excited to showcase our culinary talent, creating an entirely halal, Cajun-inspired menu in celebration of Mardi Gras.”
Queen sponsors were HAP, Clark Construction, Stifel, and
DFCU.
The DEF will host a vendor show in April and its Green Tie Dinner in May. For information on these events, go to dearbornedfoundation.org.
