ALLEN PARK — A power line utility pole was reported as damaged and on the verge of splitting in two the afternoon of Feb. 28 near the corner of Enterprise Drive and Dearborn Street.

While there were bumper parts scattered nearby, it was speculated that a snowplow could have contributed to the damage.

An employee from nearby Ventcon offered to request surveillance camera footage of the damaged pole.

While the police officer was on the scene, half of the pole split off and fell to the ground, but no electrical wires were exposed.

A DTE crew arrived about 4½ hours later to repair or replace the damaged pole.
