MELVINDALE — Police officers responded to the 18000 block of Prospect Avenue the night of June 2 to rescue an aggressive Chihuahua from a neighboring German shepherd.
The owner of the smaller dog was trying to fend off the German shepherd with a rake. The woman and the Chihuahua were bleeding when officers arrived.
One officer wrapped the Chihuahua in a towel and handed it over the fence to its owner, while the other police officer kept the German shepherd at bay with the rake.
The Chihuahua’s owner then rushed the injured dog to a veterinarian.
