LINCOLN PARK – The city will begin installing new residential water meters in February, City Manager/Finance Director Lisa Griggs said during the Nov. 24 City Council meeting.
She said letters will be sent to residents to familiarize them with the project.
“We have a tentative start date to start installing meters in February,” Griggs said. “We’ll put the information on Facebook and our website and the ‘Happenings’ as well.”
She acknowledged the high degree of water loss that the city is experiencing, which makes the project all the more important.
Griggs said people who were on the wait list for a new water meter will be contacted by the city soon.
“The company did front load us with approximately 200 meters, which is about what we have on the list, so we already got two of those installed this past Friday,” she said. “So, we are going to go forward with those and get through as many as we can before the official project kicks off.”
