Dearborn pays tribute to outgoing city council member

Dearborn City Council President Pro Tem Leslie Herrick is honored by state and city officials during the Dec. 9 council meeting, her last as a council member. Herrick, who has served on the council for eight years, was praised for her dedication to public service, commitment to responsible governance and to the people of Dearborn. She is a role model for girls aspiring to future public office, and is currently the president of the Dearborn Rotary Club. Herrick is also involved with many civic groups, including the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women, as well as the Dearborn Education Foundation, the Dearborn Symphony, the Ford Historic Homes District and other neighborhood associations. On council, she has had the courage to make difficult decisions and an unwavering dedication to Dearborn and its residents.
