Man sold fake iPhone 17 Pro Max

MELVINDALE — A man reported Feb. 6 that he was sold a fake iPhone 17 Pro Max through an ad on Facebook Marketplace, and met the man at BP 4310 Oakwood Blvd.

He said he gave the man, Jake Junior, $700 cash for a phone that has a $1,300 retail price new.

The victim discovered the fraud when he was unable to activate the phone.

He described the con artist as a 5 feet 10 inches tall, skinny, dark-skinned, and 30 to 40 years old.
