RIVERVIEW — A 19-year-old man who was subject to a traffic stop at 3:31 a.m. Sept. 6 on Fort Street for speeding was subsequently arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol and for being under 21 in possession of alcohol.
When a police officer conducted the stop and approached the driver, an odor of intoxicants was emanating from the vehicle.
He failed standardized field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was administered, and the man had a blood-alcohol content of 0.103, higher than the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
He was arrested, and his vehicle was impounded and towed.
