WYANDOTTE — A 34-year-old Detroit man was taken into custody after he assaulted his girlfriend’s roommate the morning of Jan. 9 when the victim intervened during an escalating argument and ordered the man to leave the residence.
The man, who was intoxicated, punched the roommate in the face before fleeing the area on foot.
Police officers searched the area for the man, and found him inside a busy store. The man refused to cooperate, and had to be handcuffed. A search revealed that he had cocaine in his possession.
The man refused to comply with booking procedures and bit a police officer’s hand. He was then electronically subdued and secured in a cell.
