RIVERVIEW — A 49-year-old Gibraltar man was arrested at 1:51 a.m. Dec. 16 for operating under the influence of alcohol after he was seen speeding and unable to maintain his lane position while driving south on Fort Street near King Road.
The man smelled strongly of intoxicants, and his eyes were bloodshot and watery. He said he’d had four drinks since 7 p.m.
He failed some standardized field sobriety tests and declined to attempt others, and refused to take a preliminary breath test.
His vehicle was impounded and towed, and he was taken into custody. After booking, he refused a PBT again, stating that he had plenty of money and time to fight an “operating while impaired” charge.
A search warrant was obtained for a blood draw, and he was taken to Corewell Health Hospital in Trenton to have it performed.
