TAYLOR — A gray Dodge Charger speeding south on I-75 near Eureka Road at 5:06 a.m. July 12 increased its speed when a police officer monitoring from the median pursued the driver to initiate a traffic stop.

Despite the patrol vehicle’s lights and siren, the sports car driver increased their speed from 82 mph to more than 100 mph. The police officer terminated the pursuit at I-75 near the Telegraph Road connector ramp. An alert with a vehicle description and direction of travel went out to other law enforcement officers in the area.
