TAYLOR — A 67-year-old Taylor woman arrived home from a hospital stay Jan. 13 to discover that her house had been broken into and $400 in cash stolen.

Her niece, who had been going to the house to feed her cats, said the house had been undisturbed the day before.

Drawers in the bathroom and bedrooms had been gone through, and belongings were scattered about. The refrigerator and freezer doors were left open, with food scattered on the kitchen floor.

The back door to the house was left wide open, which was assumed to have been the point of entry.

There was a set of footprints in the snow leading to and away from the back door.
