RIVERVIEW — A 32-year-old Ecorse man who fled the scene of a crash at Hamann and Colvin streets in Riverview April 17 was later located in Wyandotte and arrested.

The vehicle, a dark colored Hyundai, was spotted on Fort Street near Oak Street in Wyandotte. A Riverview police officer then went to the area and initiated a traffic stop at Fort and Vinewood streets.

The man, who said he did not speak English, was taken into custody for leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and his vehicle was impounded and towed.

He did not have a valid driver’s license, and had no verified insurance on the vehicle. He was also cited for driving without due care and caution.

The man was told to contact 27th District Court for an appearance date and was released on bond.
