TAYLOR — A 60-year-old Taylor woman reported Aug. 23 that a friend told her that someone had opened a Zelle mobile banking account in her name and provided screen shots to verify the deception.

She said the identity thief used a mobile phone number for the account with which she was unfamiliar.

The woman said she did not know if the identity thief had attempted to request money from anyone using the app while pretending to be her.
