WYANDOTTE — A 57-year-old Lincoln Park man who fled after a hit-and-run at 2:18 a.m. Aug. 31 was charged with his second operating while intoxicated offense and for leaving the scene of a crash.

A vehicle occupied by two women that was stopped at a red light at Fort Street and Ford Avenue was rear-ended by the man’s truck when he slammed into it. He then fled without checking on their well-being.

A police officer in a neighboring city saw the truck with extensive front-end damage and initiated a traffic stop. Wyandotte police officers were then summoned to the scene. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody.
