DEARBORN – The Dearborn Vaccination Center will offer the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine beginning May 3 in the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.

The vaccine is available to people 18 and older who walk in from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday through May 27. (The vaccination center is closed daily noon to 1:30 p.m. and 6 to 6:30 p.m.)

People 18 and over also can make an appointment at www.cityodearborn.org/covid. There is no residency requirement.

The Vaccination Center also will be serving people returning to the site for their second dose of the Moderna vaccine through May 27. New customers will only be offered the single dose Johnson & Johnson.

Masks covering mouth and nose are required to enter and remain in the building. People will be screened at the door as part of the health protocol.

The DVC will operate through May 27. The state of Michigan and Wayne County agree with the city that by that date, vaccines will be even more widely available at convenient places, such as physician offices, pharmacies and health care systems.

The Vaccination Center has been open since late February, and has been supported by Wayne County. It is open to anyone now, but had started out serving seven communities, under a partnership with the county.
