
Fans line Pardee Road to congratulate Taylor North coaches and players during the celebration parade Sept. 2.
TAYLOR — A condensed, hour-long version of the parade and celebration of Taylor North’s 2021 Little League World Series championship is now playing on the city’s municipal cable channels on Comcast and Wow cable.
The rebroadcast is playing at 11 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; 9:50 p.m. Fridays; 4 p.m. Saturdays; and 4:55 p.m. Sundays.
The parade was held on Sept. 2 and was sponsored by Clover Self Storage.
Over 20 units were in the parade, from first responders and military units to Taylor High School athletes and its marching band. Taylor North Little League teams that won District 5 titles were also featured.
Taylor North is the second team from Michigan to win the Little League World Series. Special guests during the parade and ceremony included two members of the 1959 Hamtramck Little League team, the first Michigan team to win the championship.
Mayor Rick Sollars, and Mike Stone and Jon Jansen of 97.1 The Ticket’s “Stoney and Jansen Show” were the onstage masters of ceremony.
Taylor North captured the LLWS with a 5-2 victory over Hamilton, Ohio. It marked the first time a team from Taylor has ever qualified for the LLWS.
Taylor North is made up of Manager Rick Thorning and coaches Guido Ulin and Jason Surma; and players Chauncey Adkins, Noah Boren, Lucas Farner, Jakob Furkas, Kale Harris, Max LaForest, Jaxon Shufeldt, Jackson Surma, Cameron Thorning, Gavin Ulin and Ethan VanBelle.
