The Michigan Chapter of the Art of Living Foundation will host envoy of peace Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at Orchestra Hall as part of his 25-city U.S. tour focusing on mental health and his vision of creating a stress-free, violence-free society.
Shankar returns to Motor City for the first time in five years. As Michiganders navigate the stressors of growth and change along with the enduring stress and isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, many yearn for inner peace and a deeper connection to themselves and others. Because the simple act of coming together creates a platform for healing, “The Journey Within” offers a path to navigate the challenges of modern life in Michigan with greater resilience, serenity and joy.
Shankar, founder of the Art of Living, will share his wit and wisdom that distills life’s most complex issues into everyday truths. As a renowned humanitarian, his goal of a society free of stress and violence through personal and social transformation has ignited a global movement uplifting life all over the world.
Tickets range from $35 to $250, and can be purchased online.
