TAYLOR – Two opposite personalities are squaring off in the city’s mayoral race, as former City Councilmember Herman “Butch” Ramik challenges incumbent Mayor Tim Woolley.
Herman ‘Butch’ Ramik
Herman “Butch” Ramik has a deep-rooted commitment to the community and firsthand knowledge of local issues.
A longtime resident and former city council member, Ramik understands the unique challenges and needs of Taylor’s neighborhoods. His hands-on experience with public service, combined with his direct involvement in city operations, gives him the practical insight to make informed decisions. He’s not just familiar with the city: he’s invested in its future.
Additionally, Ramik’s reputation for being approachable, honest and action-oriented means residents can trust him to be a mayor who listens and follows through. His focus on improving public safety, infrastructure and economic development aligns with the core concerns of Taylor’s citizens, making him a candidate who can lead with both heart and competence.
Tim Woolley
I’m asking for your vote to continue serving you as the mayor of Taylor. For me, this isn’t just a political office: it’s about leading my hometown.
As a life-long resident and a proud graduate of Taylor Center High School, I understand this community on a personal level. I’ve put in the time and work, serving two terms on the city council before you elected me as mayor in 2021.
My priority has always been delivering the basics you care about the most. When I went door-to-door, I listened closely. You want to feel safe, want your streets swept and plowed, and you want your trash picked up on time. I’m fully committed to delivering those core services.
My background as a U.S. Army veteran from Desert Shield and Desert Storm instilled in me the discipline and sense of duty necessary to lead effectively. I’m proud of the economic development we’ve achieved, like the Metro 94 Commerce Center, and I promise to continue that drive. I offer honest, open leadership and a commitment to a safe, prosperous future for all Taylor residents. I hope I can count on your support.
As a lifelong resident of Taylor, my top priorities if I’m re-elected as your mayor aren’t complicated: they’re the core things that make our city a great place to live.
First and foremost, I’m going to keep focusing on the fundamentals of public safety and services. That means continuing to ensure our police and fire departments have the resources and equipment they need to keep us safe. It also means making sure your streets are plowed efficiently in the winter, that garbage is picked up reliably, and that we continue investing in road repair. These are the simple, everyday things that residents deserve and expect, which I heard loud and clear when I was knocking on doors.
Secondly, I’m absolutely committed to smart economic growth. We’ve had success bringing new jobs and investments to Taylor, and I want to keep that momentum going. I’ll work hard to attract new businesses and develop our industrial areas, which will generate revenue and strengthen our budget, bringing more opportunities right here to Taylor.
My goal is to use that experience to make sure we’re financially sound and moving forward, while maintaining open and honest communication with all of you. That’s my promise.
