Frank Canning sworn in as Trenton’s new deputy police chief

TRENTON – Frank Canning was sworn in as the city’s new deputy police chief by Police Chief Mike Hawkins during the Dec. 1 City Council meeting.

Canning last served as a lieutenant who led the Detective Bureau with the Taylor Police Department before retiring from the department, where he also served on the hostage negotiation team.

He holds a master’s degree from Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio.

“He’s going to be a great asset to our department,” Hawkins said.
