‘FROZEN’ TO TAKE THE OPERA HOUSE BY STORM
The North American tour of Disney’s “Frozen – the Hit Broadway Musical” makes its Detroit debut Nov. 29 to Dec. 17 at the Detroit Opera House.
“Frozen,” which received a Tony Award nomination for Best Musical, completed its New York City run in March 2020 when the pandemic struck, after breaking house records at the St. James Theater.
The story focuses on two princess sisters, Elsa and Anna. Elsa has magic powers, which she doesn’t know how to control, to freeze objects and people. When Elsa becomes her kingdom’s ruler, she accidentally plunges her kingdom into perpetual winter and almost kills Anna. Elsa must learn the meaning of true love and sacrifice to undo the wrongs and protect her kingdom and the people she loves.
The show features the familiar songs from the Oscar-winning film, with an expanded score by an award-winning creative team.
The costume, scenic, lighting and sound design will also win over audiences.
Tickets start at $35, and are available online at BroadwayInDetroit.com, at ticketmaster.com, and at the Detroit Opera House and Fisher Theater box offices.

Set in 1967, Barbra Streisand is ready to kick off the holiday to build on the success of her first album with a Christmas show filming in New York City on live television. Each performance will feature a surprise “guest star” – a local actor portraying a celebrity of the era – who will surprise both the audience and staff at each show.
“Jingle Babs” is directed by Brandy Joe Plambeck and assisted directed by Joe Bailey. The cast includes Richard Payton as Barbra Streisand, Katie Akers as Summer Eve, Melissa Beckwith as Roz, Miles Bond as Levi, Kevin T. Keller as Jason and Joel Mitchell as Nic.
